Welcome to the 291st Android Apps Weekly! Here's the news from last week:
Nomads of the Fallen Star and Star Nomad 2 are new releases of Halfgeek. They are both strategy games with survival, sandbox, and RPG elements. Players scavenge for supplies, equipment and other items, and there's a trading system to get those things too. The battle is reversing strategy style without a lot of surprises. You can also look after your characters and make them more powerful. The games are a little expensive, but strategy sandbox fans can enjoy them a little bit.
Splash and Bubbles is a companion app by PBS Kids. The program has a lot of video & songs directly from the show. In addition, the program is synced with episodes of the show for a more intriguing experience for parents. Below it is a swing of various facts across the sea, including plant and animal life. It works well as a standalone app, but you don't get the full experience unless you watch the show as well. The program is completely free without in-app purchases.
Reality Clash is a fortified reality arcade fighting game. The unique point of departure is hunting and playing other real players in the real world. You find such players, challenge them to a duel, and then enter them. You can do it in the comfort of your own home with friends or at the park with strangers. Players can also fight collisions if you can't find someone around you. We're not sure if it has everything needed to make it big, but it's definitely an interesting concept.
Pixtica is a camera app with a lot of fine features. Some of the features include live filters, an above average manual mode, exposure control, a large number of photo options such as a panorama mode, and even things like slow motion (if your phone supports it ). You can even record GIFs with this one. The HDR is acceptable and the image quality is decent. It probably won't replace your stock camera app in most scenarios, but it's not a bad third-party option.
SpellForce is a made-for-mobile version of the critically acclaimed PC game. It's a strategy game with RPG elements, top-average graphics, and tons of content to play through. Players explore the game's world, create a rich, and fight with the powers of evil as most high-fantasy style games. It's also a premium game with no free elements whatsoever. It has some flaws here and there and players complained about the lack of variance in different campaigns. Otherwise, it looks like people like it.
