Asus did not say why the three phones' Pie rollout was delayed. That said, those who own the Zenfone Max Pro M1 and M2 can now test Text through Asus's Android Beta Power program.
Original article, February 27, 2019 (17:39 EST): It wasn't exactly a quick matter Android 9 Piece roll out for Asus, even though it was six months ago Google has entered the final stable version of the update. That said, at least Asus made it easier on phone owners and announced An Android 9 Pie upgrade plan for its phones.

The note is the Zenfone 5Z, which already received its Android 9 Pie update at the end of January. The Zenfone Max Pro M2 also received the update, even if it's in beta and with the inability to download to Android Oreo if something goes wrong.
Asus did not say exactly when the devices will get Android 9 Pie, just that they will get the update this year. Asus also did not say if it prioritized a few handsets over others. We will have to wait and see how Asus's upgrade plan unfolds as we move forward in 2019.
