Square Enix announced a 2004 remaster of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles during its E3 2019 presentation last night. Called Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition, the game will be this winter for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.
The original game features a single player campaign with four main characters. They travel in a caravan and collect fuel for crystals needed to protect towns and other settlements of miasma, a destructive force that takes over the world.
Due to the number of main characters, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles also lets you play with three other people. The original game was unique in that players needed to connect them Game Boy Advance systems at the Nintendo GameCube if their four-player wanted to play local multiplayer.
The good news is that there is not such a foolish requirement for local multiplayer in the remaster. In addition to local play, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles also offers Remastered Edition an online multiplayer.
There is no word on price or availability apart from the "winter 2019" release window. We also don't know if the game is free to play or has a fixed price. We will be eyeing our eyes for more information and update this article as we learn more.
