Trump open to trade deal involving ‘very dangerous’ Huawei (Latest version)

President Trump said Huawei could be part of a future US / China trade agreement in the White House reporters' comments yesterday (via BBC).

Trump specifically said: "If we made an agreement, I could suggest that Huawei might be included in some form of it." However, this statement came with allegations that Huawei is a US threat.

"You look at what [Huawei has] from a security point of view, a military standpoint. Very dangerous, "said Trump BBC.

Last week, the US added Huawei to a government blacklist to prevent him from doing business with US companies without prior government approval. Trump also declared a national security emergency Huawei believes in possible threats posed by foreign technology companies.

The US has suggested that Huawei's links with its government pose a national security risk, but there is no firm evidence of violation in this regard. Huawei also donated strictly for China's espionage.

There is a persistent question about whether Huawei is facing a significant US security threat, or whether government action against Huawei is more related to the broader US-China trade. Trump claims Huawei is "very dangerous" but says it could be part of a future business deal, weakening the claim.
